Conferences
I speak at conferences, seminars and working groups on various aspects of translation, in the in-house setting, in particular as a translator directly embedded into the supervisory setting. I am also happy to moderate sessions at conferences (either single or multiple presentations, panel discussions, or World Cafe (Weltcafe) format sessions).

Speaking topics:
The following areas are ones that I speak on as well as write about on LinkedIn and in my blog.
- In-house translation in the data-driven era
- Single person language service units (SPLSUsA Single-Person Language Services Unit (SPLSU) is an in-house language services unit consisting of a single dedicated employee.)
- Financial and legal translation (specialising in banking supervision)
- AccessibilityAccessibility means ensuring that there are no barriers for preventing interaction with websites or documents. Ensuring an accessible website is now mandatory under law for the public sector. In making a page or document accessible, I frequently have to: • Add image descriptions to graphic elements used in non-decorative manners. • Ensure the logical hierarchy of the document (e.g. heading and inclusive language
- New work
- Expert in the lead (XITL)EITL/XITL advocates the expert human in the lead rather than in the loop. or MITLMachine in the loop is an approach to human/machine translation. Under Machine in the Loop, a human expert (i.e. a translator) makes use of computer-based tools to support them in the translation process. This approach contrasts "human in the loop" (HITL), which only has subordinate human involvement. HITL also does not state whether the human involved is necessary an expert. workflows
- Translation workflows in conjunction with content management systems
- Macros and RegExRegular expressions for translators are useful search tools for finding (and on occasion replacing) complex strings of characters. They can be used for ensuring consistent formatting, isolating cells of a certain format, and also for converting parts of TUs into non-translatable tags.
- Introduction to Banking Supervision law for translators.
